For the fourth year in a row, the MEP Heart Group invited policymakers, EU health stakeholders and EU citizens to raise awareness on cardiovascular diseases (CVD), the n°1 killer in Europe, in view of encouraging the European Union (EU) to adopt heart healthy legislation and raising cardiovascular health high on the EU policy agenda.
All in all, it is estimated that over 925 000 people were reached by heart healthy messages on Valentine's Day.

European Parliament | 32 Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) from 15 EU Member States and all major European Political Groups supported the initiative. Mr Martin Schulz MEP, President of the European Parliament (EP), and the former EP President, Mr Jerzy Buzek MEP, tweeted too! The Socialists & Democrats Group in the European Parliament also advocated in favour of heart health on its Facebook page.
European Commission | The Campaign was supported by two Commissioners: Dr Vytenis Andriukaitis, EU Commissioner for Health & Food Safety and Ms Cecilia Malström, European Commissioner for Trade. Tweets were also published by the European Commission, Directorate General for Health and Consumers (DG SANCO) and by Prof Maria da Graça Carvalho, Member of the Cabinet of Carlos Moedas, European Commissioner for Research & Innovation.
Individuals | 52 people spontaneously joined the campaign, adding up to three times more people than the 2014 edition.
Organisations & Advocacy Groups | 31 organisations & advocacy groups shared heart healthy messages with their Twitter & Facebook communities.
Media | 5 news media promoted the #loveyourheart2015 campaign.
